PLASTIC AND THE ENVIRONMENT:
Is plastics eco-friendly?
In general all industrial products, during manufacture, processing and disposal, have an impact on the environment. Industrial activities are needed for our food, clothing, shelter, comfort, and healthcare etc but technically and wisely minimize the impact on our air, our water and our land and conserve resource. To satisfy our needs with better quality of products and foods, safe delivery of vital items, medicines, potable water, energy, fuels, and faster communication etc. We have all over the world become more and more dependant on increasing use of plastics, which is one of the valuable raw materials of the developed world. We should provide the comforts and conveniences like cleaner foods, safely packed medicines or better protected consumables but also work towards canalizing post consumer waste towards greater reuse or more recycling. From last two decades plastics have found marvelous uses in thousands of applications which help protect people products, speed up technology advances, increase prochictivity, aid research and also save energy and help in many ways to preserve the environment.
